Anne and Esther have developed great understanding and rapport with people with intellectual disabilities. Growing up with their uncle, who has Down syndrome, and with a mother who worked with people with intellectual disabilities, has given them perspective and a unique insight into the hidden talents and potential of these people. Read in this blog how we entered into a unique collaboration with this passion project from which the Limited Edition Pearl Beads Necklaces were born.
Through their journey with Vedder & Vedder, they have learned that meaningful work brings happiness and self-confidence to everyone, including those who are disconnected from the workforce. Their mission is to create a platform where these talented creators can showcase their skills and get the recognition they deserve. That is why they started this passion project, which is a collaboration between people with intellectual disabilities and the goldsmiths of Vedder & Vedder. This successful passion project is in collaboration with people from the Dutch care organizations Amerpoort, DOEG Zorg and Cariander de Werkkamer.
